About

Going to Brazil is a website blog about culture and tourism.

For over one year, I was sharing tips about traveling to Brazil on a budget. I actually tried, I was studying for a Cambridge Certificate and used the blog as a draft. I committed many grammatical errors, but I didn’t care , as long as the message was understood, language misspelling  is not a barrier in my opinion.

In early 2013, just after carnival season, I had a moment of clarity. It came as I was writing this blog. I came to the conclusion that it was better if my scope was wider than just the topic of tourism. I wrote poorly and often addressed myself in the third peron. As I’ve previously mentioned I changed the website mission. I am not only going to talk about tourism, but as an expat Brazilian living in Ireland and afro descendent ( I know the picture here doesn’t help however, I am mixed race) , I should be more critical, cynical and realistic. I will debate the subject area of tourism and share my favorite spots and all the good stuff including carnival and football, but I will also talk about social and political problems despite everybody nowadays thinking about Brazil as an economical and social paradise. We are far from that, the reality shows us  that we still have deep social problems.
